I understand that with the ongoing pandemic, following COVID-19 health protocols precisely are more than important. However, it is human nature to be forgetful, and I have forgotten to wear my mask for time to time. It is nothing more than human error, but I feel as if I am being specifically targeted for a mistake many of my housing peers commit as well. With this  petition, I hope to highlight the targeted prejudice I feel with the unnecessary write-ups I’ve gotten, along with the threat of being removed from housing. I ask that you view this petition as nothing more than a voice for justice. Being a foreigner attending Sac State, this housing that I’ve received is crucial for my academic success, as it is my only option for having a roof over my head. I understand that the mistakes I’ve made are harmful mistakes, as wearing masks is the most efficient way to prevent the spread of COVID, but I’ve seen many individuals who live in my building that rarely wear masks, with no form of punishment heard or seen. Committing the same mistakes as others that I live with has lead to a direct targeting towards me. I promise to follow the mask guidelines with utmost respect and attention, but the situation I’ve been put in leaves me with very limited options. These signatures are proof of the claims I have made here, and I hope that they are at the least taken into consideration, as well as my appeal.
