Broken Hill is only 30 minutes from the South Australian border and with a significant amount of residents, ex residents, friends and family of residents currently residing in Adelaide, we consider ourselves closer to SA than to Sydney (NSW).  Most of the goods and services are from SA and not NSW.

Our residents have been cut off from South Australia for long enough.  Many residents have and are going without specialist appointments and many residents are unable to visit family who live in South Australia without having to quarantine and in turn have the SA family quarantine with them.

With some State and Territory borders being opened up to SA from 20th June we specifically ask that Broken Hill be given an immediate exemption from travel to South Australia.

There are no Covid-19 cases in Broken Hill and there has not been a case since late March.  Given these circumstances we appeal to the powers that be to give Broken Hill an exemption.
