University of Bristol’s Centre for English Language and Foundation Studies (CELFS) uses the teaching material implying Taiwan as a country in the Academic Language and Literacy sessions(ALL), which says “The countries investigated are export-led Asian emerging countries. Taiwan has an estimated export of $284.9 billion as of 2015.”

Students asked the CELFS to replace the improper material, however, the CELFS claims, “ we only examine the ways texts are constructed rather than the contents themselves, so any issues you may have on the content of EFM essays is more appropriately discussed with tutor or lecturer”. They make the principle mistake as disputed academic discuss. In addition, they don’t promise to replace this material.

This response hurts the Chinese students at the University of Bristol. We ask the school to replace this improper material, apologize to Chinese students and check any material carefully.
