I am signing because I am proud of the historic and current role of Universities in Canada in promoting Enlightenment and Humanist Ideals(most of them anyway). This man does not at all represent these institutions and as a University graduate myself I am embarrassed on behalf of Ryerson University that people like him are still studying. He has no place on a University campus, where most students do not wish to have anything to do with rhetoric in direct opposition to inclusive values Universities try to champion. We need to stand as students in solidarity against bigotry. Universities are a place of welcome and need to continue to be a sanctuary for minorities who tend to still feel excluded due to political pushback that exists in some parts of society . I am a Prairie guy so I don't know the East that well but I do know our Universities far and wide are better than this. Let us show everyone how we really are and send a message to Canada's Roy Cohn (Tyler L. Russell) that he is never welcomed nor wanted by University communities who are trying to prevent the shadows of Canada's past from coming back. If he wants to try to reawaken them, he'll have to do it someplace else. Not in a place of higher learning, not now, not ever! We shall succeed, and he will not stop us. But you must stop him now, before he can build a political movement. Say NO to this fascist now. Nikita Sankreacha, you are not alone. We stand with you in spirit, the whole University community and more stands with you. The time has come at last to banish Tyler and his like back to the shadows ... Long live total Reconciliation!
Even though I believe in free speech and respect differences in values, this kind of hate is not something I or my fellow student body at ryerson wish to endorse or have represent us and so we are firmly requesting Ryerson take action against Tyler.
