The Irish economy is constantly growing. More and more people from many parts of Europe are moving to the region served by Shannon Airport. One of the largest economies in Europe is Italy which for nearly a decade has not been served by this Airport. With an ever increasing italian population in the region there is now more demand than ever for airlinks between Italy and the west of Ireland.

Italy is well known for history, heritage places, art, food, opera etc. Whoever wants to go to Italy is often forced to travel at night to Dublin to catch an early flight. It’s not ideal, when there is an airport in Shannon that could supply this service. Many Italians like Ireland, have already visited it, or can’t wait to be back. Without a route to Shannon, it will be difficult for Ireland to see the quality and amount of tourists it deserves from Italy. A country like Ireland has so much to offer, Castles, cliffs, infinite coasts, green hills and many landscapes you couldn't find anywhere else.

Whoever wants to reach Shannon directly from Italy, simply can’t, or needs to get two or more connection flights and that means they will have to travel for the whole day. It’s not for everybody, and those travel difficulties dissuades the traveller, pushing them to choose different routes for their leisure and business travels, avoiding the west region.

I think it is time to ask Shannon Airport to take example from Dublin airport and start to connect Shannon to the rest of Europe.
