It is understood that covid cases were on the rise the last couple weeks with the Omicron variant. However, with the majority of our school vaccinated and masks mandated, it is possible for us to still experience high school in full while also taking safe precautions. Many changes like the 2 tickets per player rule were necessary in the beginning of the pandemic to slow the spread, but is clear that our efforts will never be able to do so and reimplenting this rule will not be the thing that does. We as a school have to understand how to balance the educational aspects of life with the virus as well as the social aspect of life with the virus. If we are able to go to school full time with each other, we should be able to support our teams at home games. Students understand the risks of the virus whenever they go into any social setting; coming out to support high school sports is no different. In the email regarding the current rules you said that many schools have taken these same precautions but this simply isn't true. Schools like Solon and Orange still allow students to come to their games in full. With masks mandated for spectators, there is still a safe way for students to experience these events which are deemed an integral part of every high schoolers experience.
