Help Keep Our Elementary School Named H.O. Brittingham

I am a proud parent of the Cape Henlopen School District. I love this district. Today, I read an upsetting article from the local news media that was posted on Facebook about talks if renaming the local elementary school where my children have and continue to attend. As many people in the community know, a new school is being built due to our increase of population which is common among districts today. What I and the family of H.O. Brittingham do not understand is why is there a need for a name change. We love HO Brittingham and want to keep it that way. We want to ensure Mr. Brittingham's legacy lives on through our community, with the name of the school remaining the same.
Here is a snippet from the article, it was also aired on The Dan Gaffney Radio Show
"He was an educator in this state for 50 years, he was a dedicated soul. We're (the family) are just learning about what's happening here, and we're hoping this is just a procedural circumstance, but he was dying of cancer when they named the school," Dr. Brittingham said. "When he was learning about it being dedicated to him he never thought it was going to be temporary, he died believing that the school was going to be named after him forever."
Let's make the community and school district aware that Mr. Brittingham should live on through us all, through the minds of our children and those that walk the Halls of H.O. Brittingham Elementary.
Email Superintendent Fulton to let him know we don't want a new name at firstname.lastname@example.org
