Mark Telford started this petition to Ruth Baldwin and

The proposed build for 88 new homes in Thorpe Willoughby will drastically change the village and its surroundings and not for the better . The residents are concerned and would like to see the land used as a nature preservation area or Park. The Village has already seen dramatic change in the last few years and as its population grows so does traffic, noise and crime rates, the latter which have increased in Thorpe Willoughby recently. Thorpe and Selby is lacking larger areas of nature reserve and parks and recreational activities,  the Barff is often crowded with limited parking often cars are parked up the main road. The land could be put to far better use rather than more homes which seem to be erected more and more on green fields, green belts, and common land. It would be nice to see some good use been put to the land to create some reserve for the wildlife and for the the residents to enjoy and take part in . I hope you can sign the petition and help preserve village life and what's left of it.

You can also raise any concerns at www.selby.gov.uk/view-applications-public-access . Click on the blue highlighted "public access" and in the keyword section type Thorpe Willoughby and the link will appear to the 88 proposed homes. There you can comment and appeal the proposal.
