Reinstate Rutgers 2021 in person graduation

On February 11, 2021 Rutgers announced the decision to withhold in-person graduations. Although the safety of the community should always be the top priority, many students feel this decision was made with haste. There are other precautions that can be taken to ensure the safety of the students, faculty, and families of those graduating. Some of these precautions may be smaller ceremony sizes, mandatory masks, minimal guests attending, and mandatory 6ft apart. Students have sacrificed in-person learning and all of the benefits of being on campus. This is a time to rejoice and celebrate their accomplishments. Many other surrounding schools and sporting events are still taking place. I would like to call to action Rutgers University on behalf of the students and family members to reinstate the in-person ceremony with safety in mind. Thank you for your time.
