Wellness Wednesday
- Prioritizes serving others.
- Having Wellness Wednesday will allow students to feel less stressed and have time to catch up on work and calm their minds.
- We can have a zoom meeting at 1 PM to perform mindfulness and meditation.
- We want to relieve stress and the overwhelming amount of work we have during the week.
- We want to give the students a break from the busy days they have to socialize with their friends or with their family.
- Through wellness, Wednesday, students, and teachers -will have more time to prepare for their classes. Leading us to become more "ready to learn"
What’s the point?
- This will improve student’s mental health and help lighten the work the students and teachers have to do.
- This will promote well-being and unity throughout our grades because we are all fighting together, even after our fighting we will still be a stronger community since we united under one cause.
- Promotes unity through having huge group events on a weekly basis.
(New) Wednesday Schedule from 8:20 - 12pm (P 1,2,3,4,5) OR (P 2, 4, 6, 8)
- 8:20 - 9:00 Block 1
9:05 - 9:45 Block 2
9:50 - 10:00 Advisory
10:05 - 10:45 Block 3
10:50 - 11:30 Block 4
11:35 - 12:00/12:05 Music/Block 5
12:00 - 1 Community Time
1:10 - 3:05 Mindfulness + Meditation practices + Advisory Activities - Service Hours included (ex: cards for workers)
- Optional for Zoom
- People in person will be able to choose between the 3 activities held
Benefits of Mindfulness
- Help with students’ lack of motivation and drive, by clearing their heads, which makes them more productive learners.
- Help relieve stress, treat heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, and alleviate gastrointestinal difficulties.
