I stand with LGBTQ+ folk in Russia

0 have signed. Let’s get to 7,500!

We call all citizens of the world to join together and stand against the tyrannical Russian government.

Currently in Russia it is illegal to campaign for and educate others about LGBTQ+ issues. People in the community are fearing for their safety and lives. On the 1st July, the next election will take place, and if Putin manages to extend his presidency, he will enforce amendments to Article 72 of the Constitution of Russia, which are as follows:

'The protection of the family, motherhood, fatherhood, and childhood'

'The protection of the institution of marriage as a union of a man and a woman'

'The creation of conditions for the correct upbringing of children in the family, as well as for adult children to take care of their parents once the child has reached legal age.'

In 2020 the world has no place for bigotry and hatred such as this. My name is Sasha and I am a long-term Russian immigrant with a Russian and a British passport. I have not visited Russia since 2008 and I am embarrassed and appalled at the actions that the government is taking. Police brutality is also a problem in Russia just as it is in the States and the UK.

Please help by showing your support and signing this petition. If you are a Russian citizen, vote against the amendments to Article 72. If you live abroad, you can vote remotely.
