For Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News as well as other outlets around the world such as News of the World and various British tabloids, it wasn’t enough to research news stories the way others do it: Rupert Murdock took that game to new and illegal heights: His reporters, backed by top executives in the organization, simply hacked into phones and emails of politicians, celebrities, former Prime Ministers, Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, and even the British Royal Family, to get their scoop. Bribing the police? No problem—they had the green light from top executives and plenty of money to throw around.
As if that treachery wasn’t enough, last July, it was found that Murdock’s people even hacked the phones of murder victims’ families, relatives of deceased British soldiers and victims of the bombings in London that month.
When one considers that even the United States government needs to obtain a warrant in order to perform this type of activity, that begins to put into perspective what Murdock’s top people so flagrantly performed in order to further their ends. This was also a family affair; like father, like son, James Murdoch, Rupert’s son, chairman and CEO, had his finger in this poisonous pie.
It stretches the imagination to ponder the cruel and unethical lengths these people were willing to go to in order to get a story and although these crimes allegedly—we have to use that term here in the U.S.--were committed across the pond, New Corporation, Rupert’s parent company is headquartered in the United States, in New York in the Rockefeller Center complex. Not to be forgotten, Murdoch also owns Dow Jones, the publishers of the Wall Street Journal. Rupert also hosts an annual, by invitation only, management conference, where issues relating to geopolitics are discussed. The guest list is carefully scrutinized as are the few journalists who are able to attend. Rupert sets the (unwritten) agenda, of course and there are no records of talks given. Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall at that one?

This petition seeks to hold accountable Rupert and James Murdoch, and other officers of News Corporation, both in the United Kingdom and the United States for horrific crimes of such a nature that it boggle the mind in its scope and intensity.
