You may have noticed that two very familiar faces were not at Fairy Tale a challenge this year. Unfortunately Dan and Courteney Boyle were not able to attend due to Courteney’s health.
I’m sad to report that Courteney passed away March 1 after a long hard battle.
Dan is responsible for the wheelchair and run/push divisions being implemented for the a Disney races. He pretty much worked single handedly with Disney to make sure people with special needs could participate in their events.
Dan and Courteney are an inspiration to so many people and Courteney will be greatly missed. There are a few of us who think it would be nice if Fairy Tale Challenge Weekend had some type of tribute to Courteney for being a pioneer for RunDisney and the special needs community for Fairy Tale Challenge Weekend. I am encouraging the members to contact RunDisney and let them know what special people the Boyle family are. A few of us have sent emails and we would love to see a tribute.
