I am a 73 year old Mother, grand mother and great grand mother of girls . from all of my years of watching and hearing about the rapes of women and children , I am sick and tired of these men who get away with this terrible crime or are Wrist slapped ! It is time this problem is addressed more severely. Rape is conducted by Sexual terrorists !
It causes lifetime emotional damage no less than PTSD .. to allow or admonish this man to simply be suspended ( who cares that he has a GPA of 4.0 ?! which has nothing to do with this ) Is unacceptable.
He should never be allowed to return to University again. and be prosecuted in a court of law . to Hell with "Male Privilege " . The rape culture in this country is outrageous !!
This is the year Of the WOMAN 2018 . it is: #me too , Resist , and "Hell Hath no fury like a woman scorned" !

No, rape is too severe, not the punishment. It was a criminal act.

There is no justification for his ability to continue his work at the school. It is unfair that she has this horrific and traumatic event that will never go away, and he just gets a suspension of sorts, that's ridiculous.

This wasn't a misdemeanor that gets a slap on the wrist. This was a violent attack. I'm assuming the hearing board has never had someone they care about attacked in any way. If so, they would not want a person who has done something like this back on campus, and definitely would not consider him with his conduct an asset to their community.

It does not matter what a persons gpa is or what standing they have with a schools research team as to why they should stay at a school after commiting this deplorable crime. The school letting this person or others stay or return to school after their crimes is unimaginable and it will only vicitimze the person or persons whom they have assaulted. Letting a crime go unpunished through the school also sends a message to its femail staff and students that they are not safe and the school does not look out for their best interest.

Expulsion is too severe a punishment for committing a violent rape? I'm speechless at such total ignorance in understanding the devastation caused to victims of rape. Outrageous and unacceptable.

Sexual misconduct? Rape is not sexual misconduct, it is sexual violence. The fact that the rapist was an essential member of a research team is irrelevant to the criminal act committed.
