Having met many other courageous survivors from various countries I believe the government should honour them and facilitate their safety and freedom to live and work.

The immigration process is often profoundly inhumane, not recognising of genuine need or dangers in forcing people to return to their country of origin. Or, where people have been here for some years and are settled here, as in this case, not accepting that their life is here.

I cannot understand why someone who has lived all his adult life in the UK cannot be allowed to stay, when he clearly has nothing to go back to, and is capable of supporting himself if allowed to work.

working with asylum seekers in Bristol for 4 years, I know from close involvement the trauma of living destitute and with no resolution to one's case. I urge the Home Office to consider Ahmadu's case sympathetically.

From a traumatic early experience, and despite having done all he can to prove himself in this country, he has been treated inhumanely by our immigration system. He has to be given the chance to end this limbo existence and be accepted as having the right to live in the UK.
