“We, residents of East Hoathly, East Sussex, its surrounding area and neighbours of Vanessa ( Rose ) urge that she be granted leave to stay in this country, with the right to work and to marry her fiancé Ben. She is a welcome and beloved member of our community and has endured terrible hardships before coming to stay with us in what is the first safe haven she has experienced for many years.”
Thank you for taking the time to look at this post. I’m hoping and praying that after reading this brief summary, you can sign the petition to keep me in your community and your country.
My name is Rose Ssekyewa but most people call me Vanessa. I am 28 years old and come from Uganda. I came to the UK in 2004 as a student aged 17.
I have suffered many hardships both here and in Uganda. I was abandoned as a child by both my Mother and Father. My Aunt, the only family I had sadly passed away in 2013. I have no one in Uganda and nothing to go back to there. But I do have my fiancé Ben and his family here in the UK.
The Home Office wants to remove me from the UK and separate Ben and I because of overstaying my Visa time. They refuse to accept my personal reasons as valid despite the amount of evidence we have presented to them. I must make clear that what I did ( by overstaying ) was because of my exceptional circumstances. I humbly ask that you do not judge me too harshly.
I have great respect for the laws in this country. I have no criminal record and have no intention of being a burden to this society. I simply ask for your support to give me another chance to start life again. Thank you ever so much.
We the undersigned request that the authorities grant Rose’s appeal to remain in the UK.
