Make social services and courts understand the impact of domestic Abuse after separation

This petition had 252 supporters

This campaign is to help social workers and the courts realise the impact of domestic abuse on children after seperation. The abuse does not end just because the relationship has ended. Womens aid are also running a campaign for this. I am a parent that is in this situation at present. My children are being exposed to domestic abuse. I have been forced to have a mental health assessment. My case is just like many others known where the abuse continues. However my children and myself are also being let down by the professionals that should be there to protect my children. It seems social workers still have not learnt anything from many cases where abusive parents known for domestic violence are ignored and children are continued to be exposed to manipulation and control by the abusive parent. Domestic violence professionals are aware of this control and manipulation and abuse continued through children. Social workers do not have the same understanding. It's about time social workers were given training by professionals of domestic violence. Children are not protected by social workers due to their lack of understanding or training about domestic abuse/violence. This petition is to get social workers training on domestic violence about the control abuse and manipulation used by abusive parents after seperation. It is also to make them aware of how abusive parents use professionals and the courts to continue their abuse
