British Gas profits rose to £172m for the first six months of 2020, from £78m in the same period in the previous year.
The major energy providers should be made to cap their profits and pass on the excess to customers. With all energy bills rising by a considerable amount this year these companies should not be able to profit when customers are struggling to keep their homes warm.
Ofgem staff have shared a bonus pot of more than £1million, as households prepare to face a huge hike in energy bills. The reward was £150,000 more than the previous year, according to the watchdog’s latest annual report. (According to The Mirror 3rd August 2021)
This is a disgrace and unfair to customers.
