Change school hours to fit in with 21st century lifestyles

I believe school times need to start later, at 10am. We are working to an outdated system that is over 100 years old, when people got up and worked around the crops and animal feeds on farms. This system doesn't fit in with today's lifestyle and by starting school times later we would alleviate a lot of problems as follows:
*Poor sleep habits in children and young adults currently aid in mental health issues with our young people. Giving them extra time to sleep would help with their productivity in the classroom and make them happier and healthier young people.
*It would ease up traffic on the roads as people stagger their journeys to work, making the streets safer for the children to walk to school.Children would be able to walk to school in daylight in winter, making it safer.
Studies by the Start School Later movement have proven that a later start will improve performance in school studies for children and young people as well as having positive psychological benefits to children and young people, lower depression, greater motivation and even help with better diets for them.
Surely it is time we started to look after our young people a bit better?
