Why this petition matters

Started by Katie Rogers

I believe it’s incredibly important to teach children to write down and log their feelings and emotions.  Keeping a daily line of communication between pupils, parents and teachers is critical for development and the uniformity of expectations.

I also understand how children can often find it easier to write down a worry or a problem as opposed to verbalising it.  A diary could be a good place to see if a child is being bullied or if they have any external issues without drawing attention to it, it can then make it far easier to manage.

I do believe that by introducing compulsory diaries at an early age, we will encourage writing and encourage getting out feelings from a young age rather than bottling them up.

Mental wellbeing must be key during early years and continued throughout their education.

I do hope to gain enough support to be heard, especially during these testing times
