Britain’s criminal justice system fails the vulnerable.

In lawless London’s latest sickening death, 98 year old Peter Gouldstone, a World War 2 Veteran was violently attacked whilst sleeping in his bed at home in Enfield, N11.

Mr Gouldstone, a corporal in the Royal Signals was awarded 3 medals for gallant and distinguished service to his country, including the Italy Star for action in Italian campaigns including Monte Cassino.

Mr Gouldstone lost his life for an old Panasonic t.v. worth around £10 on eBay and a few other personal possessions.

It is Parliament that makes the laws and they are applied by the Judges. Ultimately it is the Judge who will decide on an appropriate sentence according to past criminal record, age & sophistication, the circumstances under which the crime has been committed & whether the defendant genuinely feels remorse.

We, the law-abiding public feel that the U.K. Justice System is absurdly lenient on offenders and it is time for this to change.

This has now become a murder investigation. We need to know that when the culprits are found and brought to court, if of age, Life will mean Life.

Something has got to change and it can start with stiffer sentencing and true deterrents.
