Immigrants work minimum 5 year before they are allowed to claim benefits of any kind.

The law should be brought in that anyone entering the UK who is not a citizen should not be entitled to benefits or free healthcare for themselves or family. To be entitled I think they should need to work a minimum of 5 years consecutively before even being considered for benefits. This would allow them to contribute to our economy and encourage immigrants who are willing to work.
Our current benefits system is inviting people to our country who bring no gains to ourselves as a nation. Why should someone be able to settle here, never work and claim benefits? The working man/woman is paying tax to pay for people who do not want to work. If the benefits system is changed then there will no longer be the "Welfare state," which we are known as worldwide.
I am a great believer in immigration but I believe if you move to a country you must work to live. We are a small island and I believe bringing this law in would combat the housing crisis, help the strain on the NHS and police service.
