Allow family reunification for child refugees in the UK

The refugee crisis is a humanitarian calamity that the world is currently facing. Hosting only 118,99 refugees, the equivalent of 0.18% of its population, the UK is not pulling its fair share. Especially in comparison to other European countries such as Germany, which hosts 890,000 refugees, accounting for 39% of refugees entering Europe. To make the matter worse, 80% of the world’s 60 million refugees are being hosted by developing countries; for example, Lebanon has one refugee for every four citizens!
I am not asking for a complete change to the UK’s refugee policy, what I am asking is far simpler than this.
The UK grants family reunion to all those given asylum, except children. There are only a few hundred unaccompanied minors coming to the UK annually, therefore hosting their closest families is not a huge ask. Children are the most vulnerable group and after witnessing either war, drought, famine etc. they will be in need of their parents and a familiar face.
The UK is among the wealthiest countries and hosting far less refugees than it is capable of, so taking this small step should not be a problem.
Join me and sign this meaningful petition as I hereby urge Rt Hon Amber Rudd MP to allow family reunion for child refugees.
