During 2020 and 2021 COVID lockdown a lot of people would go out and adopt themselves or their children (if they have any) a pet to keep them company over the lockdown/s.
After the lockdown/s are over a lot of the pets have been given back to RSPCA or other adoption centres and the adoption places haven't got enough room to keep them all. Or the animals get abandoned in rubbish bins or left in boxes at bus stops or the side of the road for others to find and once the adopted pet gets left, it's not the original owners problem anymore.
Pets are a great companion
