Lucas Perry started this petition to Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri Mario Draghi and

Roughly 8,000 koalas have been killed, slow-moving and unable to escape this rapid spread of fire, along with thousands of kangaroos that have also killed and burned.

Many of you already know that the skies of Australia have turned blood red, like something from a horror movie. This is real life however, and this horrifying scene is down to the fact that the fires have now grown to such a degree that they have begun to form huge, red hazes amongst south Australia - spreading further by the hour.

This horrific outbreak of wildfires in Australia has led to the deaths of humans and animals - destroying the natural habitats of these unique creatures, potentially for good. These fires have surpassed the range of conditions under which a human or animal is able to survive, the smoke has become a terrible threat, suffocating people and choking wildlife.

A quote from The Independent shows the impact of these fires, as they “create a plume of smoke wider than Europe”. Unstopped, these wildfires will affect people living elsewhere, for example, Asia or Europe.

This smoke and damage to our breathable atmosphere can soon spread as far as Europe, and not enough people are taking action. The animals affected can be found nowhere else in the world and they are a natural resource whose presence should not be taken for granted.

Facts show that so far 24 people have killed, and the fires are still going, over 2,000 homes destroyed and they are still going, and roughly 12.35 million acres of land burned to a crisp and the fires are still spreading. Over half a billion animals have been killed due to this crisis and the world’s blindness to the subject.

This problem is no joke, so please, get up and start to spread the awareness, otherwise this crisis could turn to affect you within weeks as it spreads.
