In pet shops and online you can find what are called reptile starter kits, they apparently contain everything you need to look after the specific reptile, I have looked into these kits and found that most of them contain unnecessary things and some contain stuff that is not safe for reptiles For example; Calcium sand which can cause impaction if ingested by the reptile. several others I found also contain enclosures that are too small for the reptile in question, some places we're selling starter kits for bearded dragons that did not meet the minimum vivarium size requirements a recommend minimum size enclosure for a bearded dragon is 48 x 24 x 24 (4ft x 2ft x 2ft) some enclosures in the starter kit we're significantly smaller than this for example; 45" x 15" x 16.5"(3.9Ft x 1.3FT x 1.4ft), these kits are aimed at people that are wanting their first reptile so they should contain everything they need but they either don't or contain stuff they don't need, and ultimately it is the reptile that suffers because the owner thought they was sold everything they need to look after their first reptile only to find out they hadn't.
