The national postal service has insisted that it does not get involved in “political matters”, and producing Brexit stamps would damage its “strict political neutrality” during elections and referendums.
Yet in 1973, when Britain joined the European Economic Community, Royal Mail produced stamps showing a Union-Jack emblazoned UK jigsaw piece slotting into a bigger European puzzle.
Statement from the; Royal Mail Director of Public Affairs and Policy David Gold said in a letter to MPs: "I am not aware of the thinking or decision-making that led to the stamps issued in 1973 by the General Post Office."
We believe that March 29th 2019 is not just an historical moment for the UK but a major political change.
The public have held the Royal Mail as a national symbol for our country and ask them please to reconsider.
