Rowan University - New Focus on Student's Mental Health

On December 11, 2017 an individual committed suicide on Rowan's campus. Given a lack of resources for Rowan's fast growing population the question to be asked is could this have been prevented?
Currently, it is very difficult for students to receive one on one counseling services through Rowan's Wellness Center. When seeking services, a student is offered to either attend a group session or to be placed on a waiting list. This deters many students from talking about mental health with a qualified professional. As Rowan University continues to expand and grow its student body, there needs to be an emphasis on expanding the resources for students to talk to someone about mental health.
