Route 91 Mass Shooting Memorial Shouldn't Be Named "1 October"

Route 91 Mass Shooting Memorial Shouldn't Be Named "1 October"
Why this petition matters
In October of 2017, 58 people were massacred and hundreds injured when a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of MGM Resorts' Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino during the Route 91 Harvest Festival Concert in Las Vegas.
In what is clearly an attempt to divert attention away from MGM, Mandalay Bay and Las Vegas for the sake of Las Vegas tourism, the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting has since been re-labeled locally as "1 October." Nationwide, however, it is referred to as both the Las Vegas mass shooting and the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting.
Now the powers that be in Vegas are hoping to establish a Memorial for those murdered using the tourism-friendly term, "1 October." We find this as objectionable as when they started airing tourism ads in adjoining states in high rotation right after the shooting.
They aren't fooling anyone.
We ask you to join us in raising your voices in opposition so that the Memorial will be appropriately named the "Route 91 Memorial."
