Roundabout Davis & Crudge Rds MARAYONG

Roundabout Davis & Crudge Rds MARAYONG
Why this petition matters

We, the undersigned would like to address the concerns that both residents and non residents have towards the planning and use of the roundabout at the above intersection.
This roundabout and it’s flow not only affects Davis Rd but traffic on Breakfast Rd. As explained further in this petition.
When travelling down Crudge Rd to Davis Rd a driver can only turn left onto Davis Rd thereby causing many drivers already dropping their children off at St Andrew’s Primary School to perform highly dangerous and in some cases illegal u-turns just to re-enter Breakfast Rd to be able to turn left onto Richmond Rd to travel to Blacktown and beyond. There have already been a few near misses, with the potential for children being hit by vehicles. These drivers are not necessarily local residents. There is now a big bottleneck problem with drivers on Breakfast Rd in peak hours (morning & night) with cars trying to enter St Andrew’s car park, and other cars trying to drive straight ahead to Richmond Rd. This road is clearly not wide enough to cope with this extra road traffic and the fact that many residents park out the front of their own homes compounding this.
For Blacktown City Council to state that the inconvenience of the restrictions only affect a “few” residents. This is clearly not the case.
For council to state that residents could proceed down Mossfield Lane then turn left into Daraya Rd to turn right onto Davis Rd is a problem, due to the width of these narrow roads. And with that when cars are parked on the side of the road, to turn right onto Davis Rd is equally as dangerous, as visibility is reduced and that cars proceeding on Davis Rd are driving at speed once they pass the Marayong Public School Crossing.
For safety’s sake we would like to take this opportunity to request ALL of Blacktown City Council from the Mayor, Councillors, council staff and lastly to Mr Stephen Bali NSW MP, Mr Ed Husic & Ms Michelle Rowland Federal MP’s to take the time to address these concerns. This is just not a fiscal problem! Blacktown City Council please don’t let this become a notorious “black spot “
