Nicola Poitinger started this petition to ROSSMOOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS & ORANGE COUNTY OFFICIALS

We are circulating this petition in order to show support for the addition of speed humps and stop signs to Tigertail Drive. The Board of Directors, Joe Mendoza has asked us to raise a petition to begin the process of implementing permanent traffic calming modifications for the safety of our neighbors. Tigertail Drive is a long straight stretch of road running from Montecito/St Cloud to Foster Road. Tigertail Drive consists of almost a half mile with no stop or speed limit signs. We desperately need to reduce the excessive speed in such a quiet residential area, before a serious accident occurs. The street is used continuously as a cut through because of the lack of traffic calming. Unfortunately since moving to our street I have witnessed daily dangerous driving and excessive speeds, that could seriously injure or worse.  A few days ago I witnessed a large delivery van from a well known company driving at an extreme speed, I barely caught the name on the side. I have also witnessed cars using our street to race and test their vehicles at ridiculous speeds back and forth. With so many young families & pets on our street this leaves us fearful an accident is waiting to happen. Will it really take an extreme incident for the local authorities to act? Prevention is key for the safety of our neighborhood. This is not to change Rossmoor, this is to improve its safety. Cars are faster and quieter than they have ever been. We have a record number of deliveries, cars and various service providers racing to either meet their delivery requirements, get to school or work. We are requesting minimal change to make our neighborhood safer in these changing busy times. We love Rossmoor and would never change it, but we love our kids more on our street, and safety is a positive change!  Please, I am asking for everyone to support this much needed safety measure on our street. I thank you in advance for your kind & much needed support!

Let's talk knowledge- Speed humps & speed bumps, the difference.

Speed Humps
For 15-30 MPH --> Reduce to 5-10 MPH
Residential Streets and Campuses

Speed Bumps
For 5-15 MPH --> Reduce to 2-5 MPH
Parking lots and Driveways

You no longer need to pour asphalt speed bumps to slow reckless speeders. Modern traffic calming devices are made of ultra-dense recycled rubber or recycled plastic -- they're easy for even the non-professional to install and much more environmentally friendly. These products are cost effective, attractive, and won’t break down in the elements.

We would like to promote a proposal for a combination of both stop signs & minimal speed humps.
