As Covid-19 cases are peaking in the state of New York due to the new Omicron variant, we the students at Roslyn High School feel that an option to learn remotely from home would be beneficial, not only for our education, but more importantly for our safety. Many Roslyn High School students who have Covid-19 or are experiencing symptoms currently have no choice but to miss school and receive an absence. What's even worse is that students who currently have Covid-19 are still choosing to attend school, under the notice of only themselves. Many students currently feel at risk in a school environment but are left with no resolve at home, waiting for a statement from either the school board or an official announcement from the NYS government. As high schools across the nation revert back to a remote learning model, we the students at Roslyn High School feel that a remote or hybrid learning model should be available.
