The Angelo Collazo Petition

This petition is to address the problems of bullying. Consequences should be put into action in order to prevent bullies from feeling invincible. The first offense would be suspension. The second offense should state that they would get an enforcement referral that both the student and parent need to be present for. If a third offense does happen, then it would be put on their school record. Many Bullies think that they are untouchable and there are no consequences for their actions. A message needs to be send to kids that it’s not okay to degrade people or make them feel like an outcast. All children no matter what religion, sex, or color they are should be treated equally. Angelo Collazo was a senior who attended Hicksville High School in Hicksville, New York. He took his own life on November 2, 2017 because he could no longer take the verbal and physical abuse from the bullies. No one should go through that kind of treatment in school or outside of school. Angelo has been robbed from his opportunity to grow and prosper. This petition is so Angelo’s voice, and others who have fallen victim to bullying, can be heard by many.

In Memory of a fantastic kid, Angelo Collazo. You will be truly missed.
