Why this petition matters

Started by Khrista Kuznicki

Crowds of 2.5 million are expected to pack over 100 events during the 11 days of Fiesta," this is a health and community hazard to the citizen's of San Antonio, Tx. The large crowds and gathering of people in such close proximity could transmit (COVID-19). The city of San Antonio has already had a scare due to the CDC's negligence in releasing a quarinted individual who tested positive for COVID-19. That person then went into North Star Mall and could of potentially infected hundreds of people.

The start date of this festival is from Thursday April 16th - Sunday April 26th.

It's urgent to the local community and surrounding city's that this event be canceled to protect those at risk of catching and spreading  the disease. We have to protect our community and be vigilant about other large celebrations that are upcoming.

We ask that Ron Nirenberg cancels this Fiesta Festival for health and safety issues regarding COVID-19.

2.5 million people are expected to attend this festival, each year the fiesta festival grows drawling large crowds. Lack of hand washing and proper hygiene is a growing concern due to the nature of the festivals activities. Alcoholic beverages will be consumed and as well all know your top priority when drinking is not to wash your hands. Bars will be packed with intoxicated people and people will be in close proximity to each other. Making COVID-19 easy to transfer from person to person. Many people travel from outside the state to attend this festival each year. We ask that the city officials to PROTECT THE PEOPLE OF SAN ANTONIO, TX.
