January 6th 2020 Officer Rachel Ditton was removed from her position as Student Resource Officer at Ortona Elementary School. This was the result from our former Principal Mr. Adkins as a last ditch effort to get anyone who stood against him out. 

200+ students and staff at the school feel cared for, protected, loved from our Officer. She never argued with anyone with out just cause, she always took the time to listen to anyone who needed to talk. She is always at the school early to greet each student, she gets involved in extracurricular activities after school, she volunteers her personal time at the school to make sure every student knows shes there to support them. 

Officer Ditton is an integral part of our Ortona family. When we found out that she was leaving, we felt the loss immediately. Students asked where she was, parents wanted to know when she was coming back.

Not only is she important to the students, she’s also a major part of the Safety Patrol. They feel safer knowing shes there and watching their backs. She has been helping them with proper flag folding and how to watch the halls. Please help us get Officer Ditton back where she belongs. She is an Ortona Dolphin and she will always be one.
