According to their founder, Third Place Books is supposed to be "the place where people from all walks of life interact, experiencing and celebrating their commonality as well as their diversity." But by banning cash at all of their locations, Third place books is actively discriminating against low income people, and working to create middle class homogeneity rather than diversity. Third place has begun this barbaric practice when Seattle's income inequality is at an all time high.

Not only does a cashless business effectively ban low income people from participating, but it also bans domestic violence survivors and others who require privacy of transaction. Now more than ever, we need to honor those in our community who rely on cash to safeguard their transactions from the prying eyes of abusers.

Third place, not everyone has access to a debit card, credit card, or "touchless payment".  STOP DISCRIMINATING AGAINST THOSE WHO DON"T!

2020 is a time to fortify our precious gathering places, a time to make a community stronger and bring people together, not a time to discriminate! Tell Third Place Books to end their cruel and discriminatory "customer code of conduct"!
