Ron Paul has conceived and led a modern liberty movement which has grown into a thriving and serious political force. Despite his principled and often abrasive (to the establishment) political views, he has garnered enough support and enthusiasm to put many pro-liberty people in various GOP positions on the state and national level. However, while he will put on quite a show at the GOP convention in August, it is extremely unlikely that he will receive the Republican nomination for President.
So, we are calling upon the founder of the Tea Party, the infamous "Dr. No", to unite the liberty movement behind the only other serious candidate for President who values liberty and the Constitution: Gary Johnson. Unless we act quickly, Barrack Obama and Mitt Romney will likely spend their time debating who will degrade the Constitution more, because they have no one to hold them accountable. We need a principled, honest politician on the debate stage this fall to stand up for individual liberties, the Constitution, fiscal sanity, and a responsible foreign policy. That person will not be Barrack Obama or Mitt Romney, it will be Gary Johnson.
Johnson needs to poll at 15% nationally to debate this fall. He is already polling as high as 13% in some states, and 9% nationally. With Paul's endorsement, Gary can easily achieve this number and carry the torch for the liberty movement.
While we recognize, that for many reasons, Paul may not be able to endorse Johnson until after the GOP convention, we urge him to unite the liberty movement and endorse Gary immediately following that convention so we can exert our full political power. Who knows, maybe we could even put Gary in the Oval Office...
