The local communities in Boca Raton have experienced a great deal of loss due to car accidents in major roads as well as roads near communities. Particularly on Camino Real. As of recently, the tragic accident that took the lives of 3 teenagers and a beloved local couple in their 50s.The start of Camino Real surrounds a large amount of neighborhoods in the area, making the speed limit of 45 too high. The lack of cameras on the road and absence of police presence makes it an easy road to speed and get into car accidents. If you look into the accidents in the area, you can find several occurred on Camino Real and were left unsolved or a mystery due to its deserted nature.

A step in the right direction would be making a change to the speed limit as it is a more dangerous street that is extremely close in proximity to communities and active pedestrians. We could avoid more future collisions by lowering the speed limit to 35 and enforcing the safety of the road through cameras or police presence. Any step in the right direction can make the street safer for everyone in the area.
