We all understand and support the need to protect public health. Federal, State, and Municipal governments are unified in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. They have rightly implemented mandatory social distancing at all levels of society. As a result, gyms, yoga studios, and athletic facilities have been deemed "non-essential."  Most of these facilities are family-owned, small businesses and don’t have the resources that publicly-traded corporations do. The Federal government has earmarked $50 billion for small business loans. However, small business owners are not in a position to take on additional debt when their businesses are struggling to stay afloat. We need policymakers to engage with local leaders and gym owners to save the fitness industry. We humbly implore you to provide financial assistance in the form of cash flow to keep employees on the payroll, cover overhead costs, and allow businesses to grow once customers return.
