For too long we have been witnessing police brutality and it’s the same cycle. It isn’t until a life is lost that the records are released with many different reports of misconduct. Maybe if someone in the office speaks up the lives could be saved, if they were holding each other accountable it wouldn’t get so far. I believe they need incentives to hold each other accountable before another citizen makes the ultimate sacrifice. Many police officers say they stand with the people and denounce the bad apples in the bunch calling for them to turn in the badge. In reality the bad officers are making it harder for good police men and women to do their jobs. I believe this Is a petition that many officers should sign as well to show their solidarity to the communities that they serve and protect. It should be a federal crime a law that doesn’t know the boundaries of state lines political parties or race. A basic human rights law.
