Lenora Mitchell started this petition to Governor Ron DeSantis and

My granfdaughter became a victim of bullying in school.Despite her mother following the rules for what took place, even taking out a restraining order on the young man that was doing the bullying, it still continued. The order went to court but was dismissed because the judge said it was a matter for the school board. Her mother eventually took her out of school and off the bus as well. She only attended when she had to take a test or exam since it was nearing the end of school. She isolated herself in her room and told her mom she only felt safe when her older brother was home. Her mother was arrested due to the other parent filing a complaint of abuse against her son and my graddaughter watched in horror as her mom was taken away and she was left home alone until i was able to get to her .Her mother was released and chargers dropped. She had to also be expunged because of the work she does. From that incident my grandddaughter is terrified of the police and is now seeing a therapist from the bullying attacks at school and on social media. This also spilled over into other children  saying accusations to her about what happend based on what the bullying student had told other students. My daughter was either emailing the principal and or the teachers about the issues. Even with a plan made out at the school by the staff,it still did not work as it only got worst. The young man had no regard for the judge or bailiffs in court as he choose to use foul language when he addressed the judge. There were times when id pick her up from school at times because her mother who works from home was unable to when the taunting got to be to much in school.I left work to do that. Her grandfather would pick her up and take her to school and he lived more than 10 miles from my granddaughter. But thats the only way she was able to attend school for testing. She would beg her mother not to leave her and just to stay until she finished her test.It was then that when the principal saw that ,that my daughter said he really saw the fear. This change is needed desperately so that we dont keep loosing our children to suicide. They are dying to young and we have the power to change things.
