Discipline National Anthem Demonstrators

We urge the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE to enforce it's Personal Conduct Policy whenever players use the NATIONAL ANTHEM as a demonstration for their personal causes or face a boycott.
The aforementioned policy states: "All persons associated with the NFL are required to avoid “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League.” This requirement applies to players, coaches, other team employees, owners, game officials and all others privileged to work in the National Football League."
A demonstration during the National Anthem is most certainly conduct that, if permitted to continue without discipline, will be "detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League.”
Whereas 36 U.S. Code § 301 states: "...persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and.... when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed...", NFL employees are in violation of the law and the institution should discipline them accordingly.
We implore you, as a National institution that has always embodied patriotism, to stop the use of the National Anthem by NFL employees for other than it's lawful purposes and observance.
It is our hope that escalating to an economic boycott will not be necessary and that the responsible leadership of the NFL will demonstrate their social responsibility to promote patriotism as an institution in our society.
