Help Us Protect Rockland's Transgender Students

The federal government announced it would rescind vital guidance from the U.S. Departments of Justice and Education meant to ensure Transgender students are treated fairly in public and federally funded schools, including having equal access to sex-segregated facilities, such as restrooms and locker rooms.

As Rockland County’s leading LGBTQ service providers, the Rockland County Pride Center and CANDLE’s Youth Pride Initiative, along with the undersigned community members, are requesting Rockland County School Superintendents issue a statement assuring the community that their schools will act in support of Transgender students and continue the protection of their humanity despite the withdrawal of federal protections.  Rockland County can lead the way in New York State, standing for equality and justice for all students, with no exceptions.
