The Rock Bridge class of 25 is inciting change in our community. In order to do this, we have created an initiative to better the environment starting with Rock Bridge! We must start somewhere, so we got to researching native Missouri foliage and we came across the Sugar Maple tree. This tree is native to Missouri and can survive its rapidly changing climate. This tree grows well in all types of soils but thrives in moist soil, which Is why we would like to plant it on school grounds. This tree is perfect for our environment initiative because it is home to many animals like Songbirds, woodpeckers, and cavity nesters. Many animals also use the bark of this tree for nutrition such as White-tailed deer and squirrels. This will have a very positive impact on our community by bettering the environment and being a creative outlet for the students.
