I just signed the following petition addressed to: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
---------------- include Roger Nichols into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!
Roger “The Immortal” Nichols is the recording engineer by which other engineers are still judged. He was an iconic inventor and a visionary in the recording industry, and largely responsible for inventing technology that created the stellar sound quality of Steely Dan records which, at the time, set the standard for the entire industry.
As an early proponent of digital recording, Roger Nichols was responsible for the initial development of Hard Disk Recording, as well as, the world's first drum machine/computer! His career spanned over four decades and his client list (besides all the Steely Dan albums) includes the who’s who of recording fame: John Denver, Frank Zappa, The Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Roy Orbison, Plácido Domingo, Rickie Lee Jones and many more.
If anyone deserves to be in the Non-Performer Category at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it is Roger—not only was he a brilliant engineer, but Roger was a fun, rock & roll kinda guy!!! ----------------
