Huey Lewis and the News musical influences span 4 decades of rock and roll and reach multiple platforms of entertainment.   There is no question that their music has impacted culture all that you have to do is ask anyone who grew up in the 80s and one of the favorite albums was "Sports". 

Their music has crossed into the movie industry with power of love and pineapple Express and now into Broadway with the musical based on their Discography.   Front man Huey Lewis staring and co staring in several movies including academy nominations for short cuts.  

Obviously I am a fan of Huey Lewis and the News and I am a bit biased when it comes their position In the rock and roll hall of fame however i believe i am not the only one who believes they should be inducted.
