Ruth Frey started this petition to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Committee

The Outfield was a 3x Platinum selling band with a distinctive and groundbreaking pop sound led by the vocals of bassist and lead singer Tony Lewis, guitarist, vocalist and song writer John Spinks,  as well as drummer Alan Jackman. Propelled by their mega hit single "Your Love" in 1986, the band achieved not only commercial success, but also inspired numerous bands to  explore their own melodic sounds within pop and rock music. Covers of Your Love are abundant on You Tube by artists such as Katy Perry, The Shins, Sister Hazel, Bon Iver, James Durban, and Postmodern Jukebox as well as many others, which shows the reach this band has in the musical landscape.

The magnitude of their influence on pop and rock music from the 1980s to 2014 with the death of John Spinks, should not be ignored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Outfield deserve to be included with their fellow musical pioneers.
