As you know, the Village of Rochester is planning on chip sealing the rest of our subdivision later this month. The chip sealing that was done in the front of the neighborhood created a huge mess for weeks, and the material still tracks in some areas. Chip sealing is a cheap and temporary option. It creates a mess, looks terrible, and does not last as long as better materials such as asphalt. Our roads are currently in good shape, so I would like to propose that the Village delay this project until next year so that better quality materials can be utilized to extend the life of our roads.
