The use of any bathroom you’re comfortable using in Framingham Public Schools
Why this petition matters
Framingham public schools don’t allow the use of the bathroom you’re comfortable using, you must use the bathroom of the gender you were assigned at birth with.
This is unacceptable due to the state laws and the schools being “very accepting” and “non-transphobic/non-homophobic”. We have many students who are transgender, gender fluid, or just not comfortable with their assigned gender. We can’t have a male almost completely done transitioning to female in the boys restroom, it would inappropriate and disrespectful, not only to the student but to their peers. Some students are transgender and many people don’t even know. This could lead to bullying, embarrassment, or some other horrible problem.
Right now, the only gender neutral bathroom in each school is in the nurses office, which could be an upwards of a 10 minute walk, which is not very convenient during school when we are trying to learn.
This petition is to implement more accessible gender neutral bathrooms and for allowing students to use the bathroom they feel comfortable using.
