I would like Canada Lands to build an outdoor skating rink for the winter in Downsview Park. I have personally seen the success of these outdoor rinks at both Nathan Philips Square and as a pop up in Canada’s Wonderland for winterfest. I think there is a great demand for it that would allow the community to enjoy free skate without having to wait only for the weekend at their local community centers.
It would also be great if we could add some toboggan hills for the winter. I have seen these in Brampton( I believe in Chingcuaousy Park). I really believe given it’s central location and and ttc access, Downsview park can become an amazing hub for winter activities in Toronto. Especially in the often neglected part of the city.
